The watter mill

In Cârţişoara one of the few mill from Tara Fagarasului can be found. The mill is still functioning and it can easily compete with modern technologies.

The wheels are driven by the water force and they were made of wood, later on being replaced by the metal wheels.

The flour made here has an unforgettable taste. Unlike modern technology, here the corn is smashed, in slow motion, by stones. The locals say this is the reason why they make the best flour ever.

There are such more mills in Bucium and Ohaba.
